Overview.
15 Thompson Street is Assemble’s second Build-to-Rent-to-Own community and the first of its kind in Australia to receive equity investment from a superannuation fund, Australian Super. Delivering 199 apartments across two interconnected eight-level buildings in Kensington, the project was designed by Hayball Architects and achieved a 7.5-star average NatHERS rating.Â
Built entirely on 100% electric power with rooftop solar supporting shared spaces, the development spans approximately 11,500 sqm of total building area across residences, communal spaces, retail tenancies, and a central public park. It required a connectivity partner whose infrastructure could match its sustainability credentials and community-first values.

Gigafy's Role.
Gigafy designed and delivered a fibre-first network across both buildings at 15 Thompson Street, providing seamless single SSID Wi-Fi coverage and symmetrical high-speed internet across all shared spaces, from the ground floor internal park and retail through to the rooftop kitchen, basketball court, and communal garden.
The solution supports Assemble Connect, offering residents 100% accredited GreenPower and high-speed broadband at competitive rates. Gigafy’s building services network also facilitate connectivity for EV chargers, and security networks, as well as retail tenancies within the building.
