Overview.
38 Albermarle Street is Australia’s first medium-density Build-to-Rent-to-Own development, a landmark Kensington project that redefined what community-oriented, affordable housing could look like in an inner-city context. Designed by Fieldwork Architects and recognised with a 2023 Victorian Architecture Award, the seven-storey development delivers 73 apartments across approximately 4,800 sqm of total building area, including shared spaces spanning three levels.
With a fully electric design achieving a 7-star NatHERS rating and 100% operational carbon neutrality, the project demanded connectivity infrastructure that matched its environmental and community ambitions.

Gigafy's Role.
Gigafy delivered a fibre-first network across 38 Albermarle Street, providing seamless Wi-Fi coverage and symmetrical high-speed internet across all apartments and shared spaces, from the ground floor workshop, cafe, and lending library through to the Level 7 Albermarle Room and rooftop herb garden.
Gigafy’s solution powers Assemble Connect, Assemble’s embedded network giving residents access to 100% accredited GreenPower and high-speed broadband at competitive rates. Smart-building infrastructure was integrated into a single managed platform, keeping operations lean for the Assemble team.
