Located in the heart of Brunswick, one of Melbourne’s most culturally rich and creatively diverse suburbs, the 171-apartment development was designed by Fieldwork Architects and completed in early 2025.

The project retained the heritage-listed facade of a 1955 Yakka Overalls warehouse, blending Brunswick’s industrial character with a fully electric building running on 100% renewable energy and achieving a 7.5-star NatHERS rating. Across approximately 10,000 sqm of total building area, spanning apartments, ground floor workshop and retail spaces, communal rooms, and a rooftop with views of Melbourne’s CBD skyline, every resident needed reliable, fast connectivity from day one.

15 Thompson Street is Assemble’s second Build-to-Rent-to-Own community and the first of its kind in Australia to receive equity investment from a superannuation fund, Australian Super. Delivering 199 apartments across two interconnected eight-level buildings in Kensington, the project was designed by Hayball Architects and achieved a 7.5-star average NatHERS rating. 

Built entirely on 100% electric power with rooftop solar supporting shared spaces, the development spans approximately 11,500 sqm of total building area across residences, communal spaces, retail tenancies, and a central public park. It required a connectivity partner whose infrastructure could match its sustainability credentials and community-first values.

Gigafy's Role.

Gigafy designed and delivered a fibre-first network across both buildings at 15 Thompson Street, providing seamless single SSID Wi-Fi coverage and symmetrical high-speed internet across all shared spaces, from the ground floor internal park and retail through to the rooftop kitchen, basketball court, and communal garden.

38 Albermarle Street is Australia’s first medium-density Build-to-Rent-to-Own development, a landmark Kensington project that redefined what community-oriented, affordable housing could look like in an inner-city context. Designed by Fieldwork Architects and recognised with a 2023 Victorian Architecture Award, the seven-storey development delivers 73 apartments across approximately 4,800 sqm of total building area, including shared spaces spanning three levels. 

With a fully electric design achieving a 7-star NatHERS rating and 100% operational carbon neutrality, the project demanded connectivity infrastructure that matched its environmental and community ambitions.

HOME Southbank is a landmark Build-to-Rent community rising 59 levels above Melbourne’s arts and entertainment precinct at 256–260 City Road.

Housing 405 apartments designed in collaboration with award-winning architectural practice Bates Smart, the tower demanded a connectivity solution built to perform at height, at scale, and to the standard of living HOME is known for.

Gigafy's Role.

Gigafy designed and delivered a fibre-first digital network embedded throughout the tower, ensuring every residence and shared space is supported by symmetrical high-speed internet from day one. A single SSID Wi-Fi network provides seamless coverage across all 59 occupied levels  in addition to the residential service network, providing peace of mind for the growing ‘work-from-home’ customer base. Connectivity also covers the Au79 Cafe and Green Room Wine Bar at ground level through to the rooftop wellness facilities, pool, co-working lounges, private dining, and screening room above.

Gigafy designed and delivered a fibre-first network across Swift Walk, built to match the scale and social ambition of the development. The Smith Collective is a large-scale residential precinct transformed from the 2018 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village into Australia’s largest Build-to-Rent community.

Designed to support modern urban living at scale, the precinct required a connectivity solution capable of delivering seamless performance across more than 1,250 apartments and shared community spaces.
